I want that. I want this. You have it. You are happy for a while. Then you see something else. You start all over again. I want that. I want this. You are happy for a while. Then you see something else. You start all over again. I want…you get the picture. It’s very disturbing to me. This characteristic of ours. How my desire is so inclined to not having this feeling, but I cant help myself. No one can.
Lust in itself isn’t bad. Just like temptation, it isn’t the problem. What lust does is try to convince that if you get the recipient of your lust, you will be happier, secured, accomplished, fulfilled, respected, satisfied, acknowledged etc. The thing is, IT’S A LIE. A BIG FAT LIE. Just like drugs, the euphoria quickly goes as it comes. Then you have to look for more. You’ll keep wanting more and more. If Adam had eaten from the tree of life, we would live forever with this lust. Always wanting more and never been satisified. Hurting people, those close to us and since our actions have ripple effects, mostly those who we will never cross path with. We are not going to escape been lustful as humans but here is a thought: don’t act on the lust…and even if you do, at least, add some value along to it.
Any feeling you have to get something or someone and it’s selfish is lust. Yeap, that’s the description of life itself. Get all you can for you. In today world, you can’t even live without lust. You will quickly be exemplified as a cave man. The system is all designed for you to act selfishly.
Remember, add value. Do your best to add value. Jesus is the one who can save to the uttermost. We, humans on the other hand, we are completely helpless and hopeless.
